WALL PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS AND TIPS

Painting walls is one of the fastest interior decorating methods.

By changing the wall shade, you can quickly and affordably change the atmosphere yourself - without special machines or complicated tools.

Blue wall paint

Test winner Frenchic wall paint!

Frenchic wall paints are suitable for home or summer cottage, traditional buildings or even modern styles.

The English, soft Frenchic color world partly reminds of old, domestic traditional shades, so you can beautifully combine our wall paints with traditional wallpapers.

Good Housekeeping Institute has chosen our wall paint as the best washable paint and the best chalk paint!

Over the past 12 months, we have worked hard to curate even more beautiful shades for our Chalk Wall Paint series and the matching Trim Paint selection. And why not?

So paint the walls with our wall paint and finish the room in style by painting the room's radiators, baseboards and doors in the same shade with the Trim Paint series paints.

You now have a lot of choices for painting panel walls, interior walls, baseboards, doors, and even radiators.

Are you ready to explore our new color selection more deeply?

1. Whites and almost whites

Whites and near-whites are always popular colors because they are calming and easy to use with any interior style.

In our recently expanded wall paint selection, there are now new shades - from super light pearl gray Moon Whisper, natural white Yorkshire Rose to the classic, pure white Whiter than White shade.

2. Green wall paint shades

We have previously mentioned that we expect bolder color choices to become more common. However, it is easy to approach adding color in interior design cautiously if you are not used to it.

Neutral and natural shades are a great way to add color safely because they are not too challenging for our senses.

Our wall paint selection now includes a range of soft, botanical, and architectural shades that fit perfectly here.

If you're looking for a bit of color that brightens your surroundings without drama, you can keep things understated with the Green with Envy shade.

Also check out the lime or apple-toned Apple Barn color and the hugely popular aqua Breezing.

How about the dark and mossy Constance Moss, fresh Bradstock, the wonderfully smoky and trendy Steaming Green, or the beautiful light Maveric?

A light and fresh salmon shade Sweetcheecks pairs wonderfully with green.

Earthy beiges, clay and sand paint shades

Neutral earthy and soft shades suitable for Boho style and Japandi style, such as light beige Pampas, rabbit brown Bunnikins, cocoa-toned, warm Moleskin.

These neutrals, together with fresh white, are always a functional and classic combination.

We will add to the list a Finnish favorite: the linen shade Stone in Love.

A bit bolder?

Of course, there are also bolder shade options available if you are ready to dive straight into colors.

Honeycombe and Earthy are friendly and warm shades, perfect for a cozy interior.

Design and Boutique style

This style requires bold use of colors. The atmosphere is created by strong colors and their abundant use.

Painting one wall is not enough if you aim for drama and hotel-style luxury. Then also consider painting the ceiling and painting the trims and doors in the same shade as the walls!

Dark shades that create atmosphere include forest green Black Forest, eggplant-colored Boujee, blue Smooth Operator, and completely black Black Tie.

In the Scandi style

The Scandi style manages to maintain its foothold in the design world year after year.

When talking about the Scandi atmosphere, Jitterbug is an excellent choice.

It suits any environment: dark enough to bring drama, but not flashy. It also works wonderfully in a post-war house.

It looks good with white (or almost white) shades, wooden surfaces, rattan, and brick.

Combine this shade with flax-colored Stone in Love and smoky Shush.

For a stylish scandi look, the blue-based grey Gentlemen's Club. also fits well.

The perfect interior color

You have dozens of shades to choose from, so you will surely find a few that match the shade you are looking for in wall paints or Trim Paint collections.

That's great - it's always better to have more options than too few. No one wants to settle for a shade that's almost right.

And you can also use it on surfaces other than walls:

Our wall paint is suitable for:

  • For laminate

  • For radiators

  • For ceramic tiles that are not in areas with standing water. Read more about tile painting here.

  • For concrete, as well as wood and laminate floors. Painted floors may require maintenance painting.

Color selection

Remember that the shade changes depending on lighting and adjacent surfaces. The shade appears differently on horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Reserve enough paint to cover the entire project.

If you need multiple cans, ensure the same batch or mix the cans together to ensure a uniform result.

Paint Coverage

2.5L covers about 36 m². A durable finish requires 2 coats → about 17 m² / can.

Calm, grooved, or porous surfaces consume more paint.

Let the coats dry for at least 2 hours. Dust dry in an hour. Finish long strokes from top to bottom.

One coat or thinned paint may reduce durability.

Porous surfaces like fiberglass wallpaper or raw boards require more paint.

Paint Durability

Prepare surfaces according to instructions. Follow drying times.

Frenchic-seinämaali is fully washable and ISO11998 wet cleaning class 1.
