Frenchic wall paints are perfect for your home or summer cottage, for traditional buildings or even for modern styles.

Over the past 12 months, we've been hard at work curating even more beautiful shades for our chalk wall paint range and matching Trim Paint range. And why not?

So paint the walls with our wall paint and finish the room in style by painting the room's radiators, moldings and doors in the same shade with paints from the Trim Paint series .

1. White and off-white

White and off-white are always popular colors, as they are calming and easy to use with any interior design style.

Our recently expanded range of wall paints now includes new shades - from super light pearl grey Moon Whisper , to off-white Yorkshire Rose and the classic, pure white Whiter than White .

2. Green wall paint shades

We've previously mentioned that we expect bolder color choices to become more common in 2023. However, it's easy to be a little wary of adding color to your interior design if you're not used to it.

Neutral and natural tones are a great way to add color safely because they are not too challenging for our senses.

Our wall paint range now includes a selection of soft, botanical and architectural shades that are perfect for this.

If you're looking for a little color to liven up your surroundings without being dramatic, Green with Envy lets you keep things understated.

Also check out the lime or apple-toned Apple Barn color and the extremely popular aqua green Breezing .

How about dark and mossy Constance Moss , fresh Bradstock , wonderfully smoky and trendy Steaming Green or beautiful blonde Maveric?

The light and fresh salmon-colored Sweetcheecks pair wonderfully with green.

Earthy beiges, clay and sand paint tones

Neutral, earthy and soft shades are suitable for Boho and Japanese styles, such as light beige Pampas , rabbit brown Bunnikins , and warm cocoa-colored Moleskin .

These neutrals, combined with fresh white, are always a functional and classic combination.

We're adding a Finnish favorite to the list: the linen-toned Stone in Love .

3. A little bolder?

Of course, there are also bolder shade options available if you're ready to dive right into color.

Friendly and warming tones like Honeycomb and Earthy are a great choice for atmospheric interiors.

Design and Boutique style

This style requires bold use of colors. The atmosphere comes only from strong colors and their abundant use.

Painting one wall isn't enough if you're aiming for drama and hotel-style luxury. Then consider painting the ceiling, moldings, and doors the same shade as the walls!

Dark tones create an atmosphere, for example, the forest green Black Forest , the eggplant-colored Boujee , the blue Smooth Operator , and the completely black Black Tie .

4. Scandi style

Scandi style manages to maintain its foothold in the design world year after year.

Jitterbug, mural

Speaking of Scandi vibes, Jitterbug is one of our top picks for new additions to wall paint shades.

It fits into any setting, as it is dark enough to add a bit of drama without being garish or over the top. The Jitterbug is also a perfect choice for an old, frontman-style building.

It simply looks great with plain white (or almost white) tones, wooden surfaces, rattan and brick.

You can seamlessly combine this shade with a linen shade, and if you're looking for a color pair for Jitterbug, check out the sand-toned Stone in Love and the smoky, natural clay-toned Shush .

Classic blue-based grays, such as Gentlemen's Club, also fit into the stylish Scandi world.

Perfect interior color

With dozens of shades to choose from, you're sure to find a few that match the shade you're looking for in our wall paint or Trim Paint selections .

That's great - it's always better to have more options than too few. After all, no one wants to settle for a color that's almost exactly what they wanted.

Safe and tested

Frenchic Chalk Wall Paint - award-winning wall paint series

Our wall paint is velvety and luxurious - and practical!

The ultra-matte surface is both breathable and completely washable, low in VOCs and almost odorless.

And you can use it on surfaces other than walls too:

Our wall paint is suitable for:

  • For interior walls and ceilings

  • For interior wooden parts such as panels and moldings

  • For laminate

  • For radiators

  • For ceramic tiles that are not in areas of standing water. Read more about painting tiles here.

  • For concrete, wood and laminate floors. Painted floors, for example in hallways, may require maintenance painting from time to time.

Color selection

Remember that the nature of colors changes depending on the lighting and the adjacent color. The color also repeats differently on horizontal or vertical surfaces.

Make sure you reserve enough paint to complete the project.

Standard industry advice is that if you need more than one can of paint, make sure they are from the same batch number or, if that is not possible, mix the paint batches before painting to ensure a consistent finish.

Paint Coverage

A 2.5 liter can is enough for approximately 36m2. For a durable result, two coats of paint are recommended, so you will paint approximately 17m2 with one 2.5L can of paint, for a smooth and regular surface.

Grooved panels, raw boards, etc., beadboard panels and braided surfaces naturally take up more paint than a flat surface.

Allow the layers to dry for at least 2 hours according to the instructions. Dust-dry in an hour. Finish the wall surface with long strokes from top to bottom.

One coat or thinned paint can have a negative impact on durability.

Porous and uneven surfaces, such as fiberglass wallpaper or raw board, usually require a little more paint than the instructions say.

Paint Durability

For optimal results, we recommend preparing surfaces before painting according to instructions and following painting instructions and drying times.

Frenchic wall paint is a completely washable paint.

Frenchic wall paints have been awarded an ISO11998 Class 1 wet rub rating.

You can also find all the information on the side of the paint can!

Painting instructions in brief

The preparations are always the same: only paint on a clean and dry surface.

So wash the wall if necessary - for example, in the kitchen it is really important to wash away kitchen grease before painting - or greasy soot dust if the rooms are heated with wood.

Move furniture and protect the floor.

Then just paint!

  • First, paint the edges with a brush, then outline the moldings, switches, ceiling line, etc. with border tape .
  • Frenchic wall paints can be applied with a roller, brush or spray.
  • The number of layers is at least two.
  • If the surface is very uneven and there is a large color difference between the selected shade and the surface color, you may need a third coat.
  • If you are painting, for example, old fiberglass wallpaper, a panel wall/ceiling, or porous cardboard, wallpaper, or a wooden surface, the paint consumption will naturally be higher than on a normally flat surface due to the uneven surface.
  • If you decide to paint over embossed vinyl wallpaper or board, for example, keep in mind that the paint will not cover the embossed pattern, but may even emphasize it.
  • It is important to mix the paint thoroughly before painting - and during a longer painting project - and to follow the drying times of the layers. Read the instructions on the side of the paint can before starting.

Finish the room and paint the yellowed radiators and pipes in the same color as the wall.
