Do you have old, sturdy pine furniture at home that just needs a little refresh? With a small budget, you can create beautiful furniture for yourself. Compare the price of a paint can to the price of new furniture! Read here for instructions on how to easily succeed with Frenchic Paint.

Pine is an excellent material for painting, as it absorbs paint well and the result is often stunning.
So don't throw away good, sturdy, and intact furniture, but give it a new life with high-quality furniture paint. Odorless and drip-free Frenchic paint is pleasant to apply indoors. Bonus: fast drying time and a beautifully leveling finish.
Painting with Frenchic paints is quite simple
- Clean the surface to be painted thoroughly from grease and dirt
- Rinse off the cleaning agent you used
- Sand or scuff. Wipe off dust.
- Paint at least twice with carefully mixed paint. Follow the drying times between coats.
- That's it!
- Dark/black knot spots often affect the number of paint layers, especially when painting light colors. A tip for this: paint the first coat with a neutral gray.

Knot spots and wood surface preparation
Knot spots in pine furniture can cause problems. If the surface is new or sanded, treat the knot spots first with Frenchic's quick-drying Finishing Coat. This prevents knots from bleeding through the paint.
If the furniture has an old, intact lacquer surface, it should not be removed. The old lacquer surface protects against knot bleed, and you can paint directly over it – first scuff the lacquer surface.
It is also advisable to use a finishing coat to prime a new, porous wood surface. This way, the wood does not absorb too much paint, and you get a more even result with less paint.
Neutralizing dark knot spots and orange tones
Dark knot spots may show through light paint. This problem disappears when you paint the first coat with a gray shade, such as Al Fresco series City Slicker or Swankypants. The gray shade also neutralizes any possible orange or yellowish color of the wood. One coat of gray is enough for priming.
Choose a high-quality chalk paint for furniture painting
Frenchic Paint paints are high quality, durable for everyday use, and water-based. They are excellent for painting furniture and interiors. Avoid painting furniture with craft paints.

Choosing a shade for indoor furniture
You can choose a shade for indoor furniture from any series: Lazy Range-, Al Fresco-, or Trim Paint series. Learn about the differences between the series here.
Pick a new shade for your furniture from your other interior elements: wallpaper, curtains, rug, or painting. When choosing a color, consider whether you want the furniture to blend into your color scheme or stand out? You can read more about interior colors here.
