Painting stripes - Refined patterns easily with Frenchic Finishing Coat finish
Here are Kirsi's instructions on how to make lovely glossy stripes on the paint surface.

Sometimes furniture needs just a little touch of glamour, like refined stripes.
Here's an easy tip on how to create the same shade on the paint surface, but different
a pattern with gloss.
Paint a couple of coats with the Black Forest shade.

Apply the glossy Finishing Coat to the taped painted surface.

Removing the tape

The glossy Finishing Coat dries quickly, about 20 minutes.

Done! Stylish glossy stripes on a matte paint surface.

You need the following for furniture treatment:
- Frenchic Sugar Soap detergent
- Your chosen Frenchic paint in some delicious color. In this project
I used Al Fresco paint, color Black Forest.
- Frogtape masking tape
- Frenchic Finishing Coat coating: this is what creates that magical pattern!
- Brushes
- For finishing, Frenchic Frenshimmer patina paint: in this project I used
color Rusty O’Bronze.
-
Wash the furniture well with Sugar Soap detergent to remove dirt and impurities
off the surface. Let dry. - Paint the furniture twice with your chosen Frenchic paint. Let the paint dry between coats according to the series' own instructions.
- After this, it is good for the paint to dry for a few more days, as the paint may come off with the tape when you remove the pattern tapes. So let the paint harden calmly for a few days before the next step.
-
Tape the desired pattern with masking tape on the parts of the furniture you intend to treat.
In this project, I made narrow stripes on the top of a small table. Press the tape firmly
stuck to the furniture surface so that the coating does not run underneath it. - Pour Finishing Coat coating into a suitable container and apply the substance with a brush onto the furniture surface. You can also brush the substance over the tapes. If you use a stencil, apply the coating with a very small amount by dipping the super sponge into the coating and dabbing it over the stencil.
-
Remove the tapes while the FC coating is still wet. This way you get a neater and more precise
mark. - Lightly finish the furniture details and/or edges with Frenshimmer patina paint. You can apply the patina paint with a brush or gently with your fingertip if you want the paint to stick only to the raised areas.
