INSTRUCTIONS FOR MORE SENSITIVE PAINTERS

Try first - only by testing can you be 100% sure the products are suitable for you

All of us, but especially those with chemical allergies, asthma, and sensitivities, should always exercise caution when using protective equipment and, if possible, test the product's suitability before starting painting work in a well-ventilated area.

If you are unsure about the suitability of Frenchic Paint products, start experimenting with Lazy Range series products.

Read the instructions on the paint can before starting and always follow the guidelines.

  • Check for hazards on the surface to be painted (e.g., lead, asbestos)
    - Prepare the surface according to the manufacturer's instructions before painting
    - Store all paints safely out of reach of children
    - Restrict access to painted areas and place "wet paint" signs
    - Wear protective clothing, recommended personal protective equipment, and ensure proper fit. You may need hand, eye, skin, and respiratory protection.
    - Keep dust to a minimum
    - Reuse or recycle leftover paint
    - Wipe brushes and rollers clean before washing
    - Clean carefully with a HEPA vacuum after painting
    - Dispose of waste safely
    - Wash hands thoroughly before eating, drinking, smoking, and leaving home

- Do not eat, drink, or smoke while applying paint
- Do not inhale wood or sanding dust
- Do not use solvents or thinners to clean paint stains from skin
- Do not sand or remove old paint with heat, which may contain lead
- Do not pour paint or solvents down the drain
- Do not leave container lids open when not in use

- Be careful with ladders, preferably use an extension pole

Ensure sufficient ventilation and air exchange during painting and paint drying, at least for two days.

Consider drying times and the need for ventilation, especially if painting children's furniture, such as a bed or bedroom walls.

Protect yourself and the work area carefully

When painting with allergic and sensitive people as well as children, always use protective equipment when painting and waxing.

Open the paint can carefully using a paint can opener to avoid splashes and a bent lid. Protect the floor or ground surface so that spilled paint does not damage the surface.

The most important protective equipment are protective gloves and goggles

Also protect the work area and wear shoes and suitable work clothes with protective long sleeves and pant legs during indoor painting projects.

Paint may splash onto the skin during painting.

Like water-based paints in general, Frenchic Paint also contains a small amount of preservative, which may cause an allergic reaction in already sensitized individuals if paint splashes onto the skin.

Appropriate protective clothing prevents unnecessary skin contact with paint. Painting clothes should be chosen so that splashes do not bother you - once dried, paint may not come out of clothes even in washing.

Wash paint off the skin immediately with water and soap

Also wear protective goggles when painting (not only when painting the ceiling).

VOC - what are they?

VOC (abbreviation for volatile organic compound) are harmful organic, volatile compounds found in many paints. These compounds, dangerous to health and the environment, evaporate into indoor air causing allergic or hypersensitivity reactions.

Long-term exposure to harmful organic compounds can lead to damage to internal organs or the central nervous system, among other things. Short-term exposure can cause eye irritation, headaches, shortness of breath, fatigue, skin symptoms, visual disturbances, and weakness.

It may be useful to know that these VOC substances are not present long-term in the dry paint film. For clarity, it should be noted that they mainly evaporate during application and drying, so they do not remain over time. The same applies to all VOC compounds.

Frenchic series paints contain little or minimal VOC substances. The VOC % can be found in the information for each paint series on our website.

The ingredients of Frenchic paints are listed on the side of the paint can.

Read and follow the instructions, especially about drying times and paint storage, so it remains reusable and clean. Take care of the cleanliness of painting tools during and after the painting project.

Like other paints, Frenchic paints contain preservatives; the concentration limits are set by the European Toy Safe certification.

If you suspect you are allergic to paint ingredients, additional protection can be obtained from a respirator if necessary.

We have very good customer feedback from customers who are asthmatic or otherwise experience symptoms from other paint brands – the majority of our multi-chemical allergic customers report being able to use Frenchic paints.

Only by trying it yourself can you be 100% sure of the product's suitability for you.

If you are unsure whether you can use the Frenchic series, visit our retailer to try the products or order a small 250ml sample jar from our online store and do a test painting.

Customer feedback on the Frenchic series paints has been very positive.
