How to paint successfully – step by step
Painting with lime paint is not complicated, but a few simple steps ensure the best possible result:
-
Clean the surface thoroughly. Use, for example, Sugar Soap cleaner to remove dirt, grease, and dust. Paint adhesion depends on how clean the surface is.
-
Light sanding. Especially on smooth or glossy surfaces, light roughening improves paint adhesion.
-
Stir the paint before use. Careful mixing ensures the correct shade and even distribution of important protective agents.
-
Paint as usual and follow the drying times between coats. Usually, two coats are enough for full coverage. Let the first coat dry properly before applying the next. Frenchic paints do not need thinning.
Although the paint dries to the touch in just a couple of hours, it reaches full hardness after about three weeks. During this time, the surface should be protected from heavy wear to keep the finish flawless for a long time.
Style and atmosphere – what can you do with lime paint?
Lime paint offers the opportunity to play with colors, textures, and styles. Do you want to create a rustic atmosphere on an old dresser or a fresh, modern look on a nightstand?
Frenchic Paint’s wide color selection offers shades from soft natural tones to bold accent colors. Paints can be used in single colors or layered, for example, to create a patina effect.
The following styles are especially popular:
-
Shabby chic: A slightly worn, romantic style is easily achieved with light sanding after painting.
-
Dry brushing: Lightly brush dry paint onto the surface to create subtle texture.
-
Patination: Combining several shades and using wax creates depth and an antique look.
These techniques don’t require art studies or special tools – just a bit of courage and willingness to try.

Durable and easy-care finish
Surfaces painted with lime paint withstand everyday wear surprisingly well, especially when you choose a quality product. Frenchic paints already contain protective agents, but for example on kitchen countertops or bathroom furniture, you can use Finishing Coat protective agent or Tuff Top Coat as additional protection. This gives extra grip and moisture resistance.
Cleaning painted surfaces is also easy: use a mild detergent and a soft cloth, avoid strong solvents and steam cleaning. In most cases, a light wipe is enough – and the beautiful surface will stay in good condition for a long time.
