Tile surfaces in the bathroom can last for years, but the style and color of the tiles can go out of fashion or the color scheme can become boring. A complete bathroom renovation can easily cost thousands of euros – but what if you could refresh the space with a smaller budget? This is possible with Frenchic tile paints!
Can bathroom tiles be painted?
Yes, you can – as long as you choose products tested by the manufacturer - Al Fresco series paints are officially tested by the manufacturer for ceramic tiles, but not for tiled floors or areas with standing water, such as showers, saunas, or bathtubs.
Start by familiarizing yourself with our instructions. The Frenchic paints Al Fresco series is designed to withstand moisture and wear. When painting is done on a dry and clean surface and the surfaces are properly prepared, the result is durable and stylish.

How to succeed in painting tiles
-
Clean the tiles thoroughly. Silicone, grease, soap residues, and other dirt can prevent paint adhesion.
-
Sand the surface. This improves paint adhesion.
-
Protect & tape edges and floor. Use painter's tape and protective plastic or paper carefully. At this stage, it's advisable to remove old silicones.
-
Paint thinly and evenly. Start from the edges with a brush, continue with a roller on large surfaces.
-
Let it dry properly. After the first coat, wait 2–4 hours; the second coat finishes the surface.
- Finish with new silicone joints
